Description

SUMMARY
 
This position is responsible for the financial reporting, bookkeeping, and payroll processing functions in accordance with policy and procedures of Eliza Bryant Village by performing the following duties and any other special duties may be assigned as necessary:
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Payroll Processing:

-Does whatever it takes to meet established deadlines and ensure prompt payroll payments
-Computes wages and records data for use in payroll processing
-Track employee benefits
-Enter and/or update payroll information
-Generates time reports to show accurate accumulated vacation, sick and personal time balance
-Review wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll
-Releases and/or distributes employee pay checks according to established procedure
 

Payroll withholdings:

-Compiles payroll data such as hours worked, overtime, sick vacation and union dues to be withheld and other payroll withholdin
-Computes various payroll withholds for pay check process i.e. garnishments, child support or insurance
-Monitor general ledger accounts the coincide with payroll withholdings
 
 
Financial Reporting:

-Convert payroll report to excel for general ledger import
-Calculate monthly: accrued workers compensations,  salaries and FICA taxes
-Prepare semi-annual workers compensation premium report for BWC
-Complete and post monthly journal entries
 

Employee Benefits:

-Monitor salary employee time cards
-Respond to  job verifications and/or payroll history requests
-Compile and maintains records for use in employee benefits administration
-Monitor Union employee attendance records
-Monitor insurance billings to ensure proper enrollment
 

Accounts Payable:

-Process accounts payable invoices and ensure payments are made on time
-Print checks
-Month end reporting
-Communicate with vendors to resolve issues
-Processing of 1099’s at year end
-OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
 

QUALIFICATIONS
 
-Associate’s Degree in Accounting plus (1) year related experience required or three (3) years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
-Must be diplomatic, tactful, and have the ability to function efficiently in stressful situations.  Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to interact with all levels of personnel.  Demonstrated technology ability that includes use of programs including but not limited to:  MS Suite, Excel and Wordprocessing tools.
