Description

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for a variety of supportive resident care duties and provides related services that promote comfort, safety and meet the resident personal needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living which includes but not limited to: bathing, mouth care, hair care, toileting, skin and nail care.
  • Ensures that residents’ personal care needs are being met promptly.
  • Participate in resident care assessments.
  • Assist in development of resident treatment plans.
  • Provide direct resident care in accordance with treatment plans, as directed by the Nursing Supervisor/Nurse Manager.
  • Demonstrate understanding of and utilize proper infection control policies/practices.
  • Accompany residents, as needed, to various activities and functions.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the restorative nursing program.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and secure environment for residents.
  • Assist resident to maintain optimal nutrition and hydration status.
  • Act in compliance with Eliza Bryant Village, regulatory and professional standards and guidelines
  • Reports any allegations of resident abuse and/or misappropriation of resident property
  • Maintains confidentiality of necessary information
  • Thinks and acts calmly and logically to meet unusual occurrences of the job without being thrown off stride.
  • Establishes and maintains good public relations with residents, families and other guests and show empathy toward residents
  • Ensure all call lights are in reach and answers call lights promptly
  • Attend meetings and in-service sessions, as directed.
  • Access continuing education opportunities appropriate to discipline and responsibilities in order to maintain clinical currency.
  • Adheres to facility policies and procedures and participates in facility quality improvement and safety programs.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum of High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  2. State Tested in Ohio
  3. Preferred a minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience in a setting serving the same age/type of resident population served by this facility.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Education: Completion of State Tested Nursing Assistant program.

Language Skills: Proficient in spoken and written English

Mathematical Skills: High School level basic math
