Description

SUMMARY

This PRN position is responsible for a variety of supportive resident care and administrative functions while transporting residents to and from appointments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Transportation Duties:

  • Properly and safely transport and accompany residents to necessary appointments
  • Assist with transporting to activities, special events or dining rooms
  • Communicates effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians, reception and/or dispatch.
  • Ensures the comfort of the patient by being attentive. Offers blankets, checks modesty and only engages in appropriate conversation involving patients.
  • Alerts nursing staff immediately to any signs of patient distress.
  • Other duties as assigned

Equipment:

  • Treats all equipment with care
  • Clean equipment when necessary.
  • Report faulty or broken equipment to supervisor.

 

Accountability and reliability

  • Adheres to facility confidentiality and patient's rights policy as outlined in the facilities HIPPA policies and procedures
  • Adheres to time and attendance policies
  • Follow dress code.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum of High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  2. Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience in a setting serving the same age/type of resident population served by this facility preferred
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

Language Skills: Proficient in spoken and written English

Mathematical Skills: High School level basic math
