Title:Dietary Aide - Part-time
Salary Range:$13.00 hr


This position is responsible for assisting the dietary department with preparing and serving meals as well as maintaining the dietary area in a clean, safe condition in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing the facility.


  • Assist with meal preparation.
  • Portion and serve food according to established menu.
  • Prepare dining room prior to each meal.
  • Assure resident meal trays are clean and contain the proper diet prior to leaving the kitchen.
  • Deliver and pick up food carts in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean, hazard-free work area and dining room, cleaning dining room tables and chairs following each meal.
  • Follows cleaning schedules as assigned.
  • Clear and wash dishes, pots and/or utensils according to acceptable standards of practice.
  • Act in compliance with federal and state sanitary regulations as well as facility infection control guidelines and dietary polices/procedures.
  • Assist with storage and inventory of food supply and cleanliness of storage areas
  • Complete all department in-services.
  • Promotes and environment that reflects and supports the spirit

Must be able to work some holidays and every other weekend.


  • Minimum of High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Experience working in long term care preferred
  • Culinary and/or food service experience in a health care facility an asset
  • Must be able to follow recipes, use measurements, and understand therapeutic diets.
  • Familiar with all kitchen equipment and food prep.
  • Willing and able to work in a team environment
  • Long term care experience is preferred

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Language Skills: Proficient in spoken and written English

Mathematical Skills: Proficient in basic math
