This position is responsible for applying assist the billing and accounting team in daily operations from clerical support up to and including collections.


  • Prepare billings for adult day care and track and manage the related collections.
  • Prepare private pay and patient liability invoices for nursing home.
  • Prepare, send and monitor collection letters in accordance with company policy.
  • Assist billing coordinator in recording cash receipts for nursing home, resident funds and adult day care and resolving cash receipt discrepancies including follow-up on payment denials.
  • Act as a back-up for nursing home billing and follow-up of all Medicare, Medicaid, Hospice, Managed Care billing and Accounts Payable.
  • Assist billing coordinator with accounting for resident funds.
  • Assist billing coordinator and residents/family members in applying for Medicaid and renewing Medicaid at redetermination.
  • Enter journal entries into accounting software.
  • Assist in year-end closing.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and secure environment for residents.
  • Act in compliance with Eliza Bryant Village, regulatory and professional standards and guidelines Reports any allegations of resident abuse and/or misappropriation of resident property Maintains confidentiality of necessary information
  • Thinks and acts calmly and logically to meet unusual occurrences of the job without being thrown off stride.
  • Establishes and maintains good public relations with residents, families and other guests and show empathy toward residents
  • Attend meetings and in-service sessions, as directed.
  • Access continuing education opportunities appropriate to discipline and responsibilities in order to maintain clinical currency.
  • Adheres to facility policies and procedures and participates in facility quality improvement and safety programs. Perform other duties, as assigned.


  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum three years of billing & collection experience in a medical or long-term care setting required, with longterm care/nursing home billing preferred.
  • Prior bookkeeping experience and familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and Private billing requirements and documentation requirements is a plus.


  • Proficient in writing and mathematical skills
  • Ability to work accurately with the pressure of deadlines and interruptions while at the same time being well organized, persistent, and working as a team player.
  • Possess good communication and analytical skills with particular ability to pay attention to detail. Knowledge in Excel and Word

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Language Skills: Proficient in spoken and written English

Mathematical Skills: High School level basic math

Physical Demands: Ability to sit and work on a computer for extensive periods of time is required.
