Description
The Director of Environmental Services functions under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer.

The Director of Environmental Services:
  • In addition to general administrative duties pertaining to Facilities Management, this is a hands-on position
  • Director supervision of all Housekeeping, Laundry and Maintenance staff.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors on Facilities related issues.
  • Coordinates staff coverage according to the needs of the facility.
  • Establish preventive maintenance initiatives
  • Promote and ensure good housekeeping, laundry and maintenance standards of practice
  • Supervises staff, and often operates “hands on” in facility projects.
  • Manages vendors & contractors by developing specifications, reviewing contractor's products & invoices, obtaining bids when appropriate
  • Interacts regularly with residents, board members, and acts as a team mate to other departments.
  • Assists facilities technicians with repairs and preventative maintenance as necessary.
  • Own the organizing and maintaining of purchase orders, work requests and associated files.
  • Manages approved plant maintenance & renovation projects as appropriate
  • Ensures adherence to specifications & safety requirements
  • Coordinates  projects including energy management,  modular furniture installation, moving services & space planning, housekeeping and laundry
  • Ensures adherence to emergency processes
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Microsoft Office computer program
  • Track call offs and report potential FMLA cases to HR
  • Track attendance infractions and complete disciplinary action forms when required

Requirements:
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma and experience in managing facility operations, maintenance, renovation & construction projects for health-care facilities or other technical facilities is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ODH regulatory agency requirements a plus
  • Previous experience working in a facilities department highly preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication required.
  • Ability to multi-task and address competing priorities.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
